Russian Police Arrest War Protesters

Police officers detained demonstrators in St. Petersburg Wednesday after President Vladimir Putin dramatically escalated his flagging invasion in Ukraine by announcing what he called a “partial mobilization.” More than 1,200 protesters were arrested in 38 cities, according to the Russian human rights group OVD-Info.
