Several incidents of violence were reported and a religious building was targeted in an outbreak of disorder in UK’s Leicester. On September 18, videos of hundreds of people taking to the streets in Britain’s East Leicester were circulated on social media. The spate of violence is said to have begun after India versus Pakistan cricket on Aug 28, as a part of the Asia Cup tournament. According to accounts, Pakistani Islamists assaulted Hindus and their homes, with provocative religious sloganeering, desecrating a saffron flag in front of the police.
